About Us

Pros & Cons Apparel is a clothing line that was born from the love of fashion and the desire to bring ethical designs to our customers.

Our story began in Toronto when we realized how unhappy we were with being sold in stores and online. We constantly felt overwhelmed by their quick turn over of stock, and chasing the trends for a few dollars. It was once we looked into the matter more that we realized the bigger problem with fast fashion retailers and their exploitation of the garment workers.

It was at that moment that we made a promise to ourselves that if we ever started a clothing line we would make sure to do everything we could to provide all the things that these fast fashion companies couldn't.

Starting from handmade designs within our home studio we wanted to show the world that fashion could be both fun and ethical. We commit to only working with ethical companies. You can be sure that every person behind your item is working in safe conditions and is being paid a fair wage.

What is Ethical Fashion?

When we show up for others around the world we can feel better about the choices we make! Ethical fashion includes, but is not limited to, fair wages, set working hours, safe working conditions, and integrity for the workers making your clothes.

When looking at the fashion industry we know that fabric prices are static. Cotton is cotton is cotton, and the prices will be very similar world wide for the same product. So when we go shopping and find a T shirt for $10 versus $50 we know the workers are the ones who are being subjected to lost wages and rigorous work deadlines to make that price point.

We can uplift workers rights by purchasing from brands that commit to ethical practices and show transparency.

Our Commitments to Sustainability

Being a slow fashion brand we find it important to engage in sustainable practices. Here are just a few ways we keep it sustainable:

  • Production is all done locally, which decreased international fuel use, and helps stimulate the local community
  • All items are made strategically to decrease fabric waste
  • All items are made with extreme quality, making your outfits last a lifetime, and therefore reducing clothing waste

We commit to further increasing our sustainable approach within the garment industry as we continue to grow. This includes purchasing sustainable material, and using compostable packaging.
